Vladimir Putin's oldest daughter, has defended her father by saying that more people are needed to start a war in Ukraine than just the president. Maria Vorontsova wrote that no one should be solely blaming Putin, because putting the responsibility on one person only, would be like living in a time when Russia was ruled by tsars, Newsweek reports.

Dmitry Kolezev from an independent server Republic pointed out Vorontsova's words. He says to have gotten the screenshots of messages of Putin's daughter from a private conversation of Moscow State University medical graduates on the Telegram social network. Today, 37-year-old Vorontsova works as an endocrinologist.

Kolezev wrote that Putin's daughter identity was not "100% confirmed", but sources from within the group confirmed to him that Maria V. was really Vorontsova, as evidenced by biographical data. She joined the Telegram group of about about 170 members last year.

"No one in the West wants our country to prosper. The West has always done everything to prevent this. And it will continue to do so," says Vorontsova in the article. According to Putin's daughter, war in Ukraine is not the best possible solution, but she advocates for it by saying, that Russia is only protecting itself from the "aggressive West". These words are regularly repeated by the Kremlin and they are constantly used to put Russia in the position of a victim who is allegedly only defending itself by unleashing the war in Ukraine.

"Blaming only one person and attributing responsibility solely to them is the same as trusting one person as a tsar. The same stupidity. We are not like the Germans in the 1930s, we are more like those they banned," Putin's daughter justifies her father's actions that led to the outbreak of war.

In her contributions, Vorontsova claims that if Putin did not intervene, the Russian Federation could allegedly become an outcast, and instead of a prosperous country, Russia would only serve to supply the US and the European Union with oil and gas. "I wonder who you will accuse of not living in a prosperous economy," she said.
