How Rich Is Zelenskyy? He Has $ 2 Million In His Account, But Also Owns Apartments, Cars And Company Shares, Explains Forbes

Recent speculations state, that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is in fact, a billionaire. Forbes magazine looked at the assets that Zelensky has at his disposal as head of state and estimated, how much the value of the assets could have increased in recent years.

According to Forbes, Zelensky faced allegations that he had amassed $ 1.4 billion in assets, which must be understood as corruption. The American moderator of the Russian propaganda radio station Sputnik Lee Stranahan also asked on the social media platform Twitter, how is it possible that Zelenskyy is a billionaire.

However, the reality is different. Prior to taking office, Zelensky owned a 25 percent stake in the production company Kvartal 95, which also owns the rights to the Servant of the Nation series.

Ukrainian Forbes estimated that thanks to the popularity of the series after the outbreak of the war, the production company could earn about $ 30 million a year, making Zelenskyy's share worth around $ 11 million.

In the past, the series was broadcast by Netflix, from which, however, the Servant of the Nation disappeared last year. After the invasion broke out, the series returned to Netflix.

Zelenskyy owns a luxury apartment in the center of Kiev, two more apartments, but also two apartments, where he is only a co-owner. In addition to the apartments, he owns one commercial property and five parking spaces. This portfolio's estimated worth is somewhere under $ 4 million.

Forbes found no evidence of the luxury yachts or three private planes that the president reportedly owned. The magazine estimates that Zelensky has "about two million dollars in cash and government bonds" in a shared bank account with his wife. The remaining two vehicles and jewelry are worth no more than $ 1 million, according to the magazine.

"Despite social media rumours that he is a billionaire, Volodymyr Zelenskyy is nowhere near reaching the list of the richest people in the world,"  concluded Forbes in their analysis.
