A Mother In Florida Fed Her Baby Only Vegan Diet. He Died At 18 Months

Sheila O'Leary was convicted by a Florida court of first degree murder. Her son Erza stopped breathing due to malnutrition as his parents only fed him raw vegetables, fruits and breast milk, informs the Daily Mail.

They also accused Ryan's father, but he is still waiting for a court decision. Both parents face life in prison after rejecting 30-year plea deals.

Doctors discovered that Erza had not been fed for a week before he died in September 2019. After his parents called for help, doctors pronounced him dead at the scene. They also examined their other children, who were severely malnourished, had yellow skin and rotten teeth. Their diet mainly consisted of mangoes, bananas and avocados.

Despite not releasing photos of the victim, during the trial prosecutors described an emaciated child who cried constantly.

“She chose to disregard his cries. She didn’t need a scale to see his bones. She didn’t need a scale to hear his cry," said Assistant State's Attorney Sara Miller.
