Fantastic Beasts 3 just had its open weekend all over the world. Unfortunately for the Hollywood studio Warner Bros., the audience was not nearly as curious to see the feature, as with the previous films. The third part recorded the weakest opening weekend in the US and Canada , in the history of the entire Harry Potter series, as well as within the Fantastic Beasts series.

Opening weekends of the previous films (USA and Canada):

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 – 169,1 million dollars
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 – 125 million dollars
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire – 102,6 million dollars
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban – 93,6 million dollars
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone – 90,2 million dollars
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets – 88,3 million dollars

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince – 77,8 million dollars
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix – 77,1 million dollars
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them – 74,4 million dollars
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald – 62,1 million dollars
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore – 43 million dollars

As you can see, the latest film is at the tail of the charts. Undoubtedly, lower revenues were also caused by the pandemic, which limited the interest of spectators in attending cinemas. However, the Fantastic Beast series is not nearly as captivating as Harry Potter, while at the same time, it is not nearly as good.

According to Hollywood magazine and the analysts from Deadline, the fourth part does not have a script yet. The upcoming Harry Potter series, which will premiere on HBO Max, does not even have screenwriters yet, and it is entirely possible that we will not see another part of Fantastic Beasts.

Warner Bros. Studio allegedly waited for the sales of this film to decide whether, to shoot two more parts (the original plan was to shoot 5 parts of Fantastic Beasts). Fantastic Beasts 3 brought a total of $ 192 million to their account.
